The opposition staged a walkout when they were not allowed to hold a discussion after the remarks.

The Indian Army stopped the troops of Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) last week along the contested Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang sector, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told both houses of Parliament on Monday amid opposition attacks. In his address, the Defence Minister said that “no soldier died or no major injuries were reported”. The army is prepared to face such indidents, he underlined, hailing the bravery of soldiers. The Arunachal face-off is the first such incident since the June 2020 Galwan Valley stand-off in the sensitive Ladakh sector.
“In this face-off, few soldiers on both sides suffered injuries. I’d like to stress that none of our soldiers died or suffered any serious injury. Due to the timely intervention of Indian military commanders, PLA soldiers have retreated to their own locations,” he said. “This matter has also been taken up with China through diplomatic channels. I want to assure the House that our forces are committed to guard our borders and ready to thwart any attempt that will be made to challenge it,” he further asserted.
