18 people lost their lives in a shooting at mushroom farms in Northern California. Officials have given this information on Tuesday. The matter is of Saturday and Monday. Where 11 people, mostly of Asian descent, were shot dead Saturday night at a dance hall in the Los Angeles area, and seven people were killed Monday in an attack on agricultural workers, many of them from San Francisco. The pass were immigrants living in the seaside town of Half Moon Bay.
The suspects in both attacks were men of retirement age, much older than the typical perpetrators of such shootings. Officials said two of the accused, Hu Can Tran (72) and Chunli Zhao (66), used semi-automatic pistols. The victims of both the attacks belonged to the immigrant community. Tran opened fire on ballroom dancers celebrating the Lunar New Year in Monterey Park near Los Angeles, and Zhao opened fire on Hispanic and Asian farm workers 380 miles north in Half Moon Bay.
Tran also tried to attack another dance studio on Saturday night, but was disarmed after a scuffle with the club’s operator. The next morning, he shot himself in the driver’s seat of the police vehicle. Zhao was arrested Monday evening outside a sheriff’s station, where officials said he surrendered shortly after the shooting in Half Moon Bay.
