Indian Navy: ‘Sand Shark’ joins Indian Navy, India’s strength in sea increased from INS Vagir
INS Vagir has been inducted into the Indian Navy. This is the fifth submarine of the Kalvari class under Project 75, which has been inducted into the Indian Navy. INS Vagir was commissioned into the Navy in the presence of Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai.

INS Vagir is completely built in India. It has been built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited of Mumbai in collaboration with the French company Naval Group. The specialty of this submarine is that this submarine can be used in anti-submarine warfare, intelligence gathering, laying of landmines in the sea and surveillance work. This submarine can be deployed both on the coast and in the middle of the sea. Trials of this submarine have been done.
