According to information, Hizbul Mujahideen’s launching commander Bashir Ahmed Peer alias Imtiaz Alam was attacked in Rawalpindi, Pakistan on Monday. An unknown assailant attacked Bashir Ahmed Peer alias Imtiaz. The assailant opened fire on Bashir Ahmad Peer alias Imtiaz, killing him.

Let us tell you that Bashir Ahmed was standing outside a shop in Rawalpindi at the time of the attack. After being injured by bullets, the people present nearby took him to the hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead. Bashir was a resident of Babarpora in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Significantly, on October 4 last year, the Union Home Ministry had declared Bashir Ahmed a terrorist under the provisions of the UAPA Act. Ahmad Peer’s name had surfaced several times on charges of providing logistics and other help to terrorists coming to the Valley by infiltrating from Pakistan. After this, in the month of October last year, he was declared a terrorist by the government.

Bashir Ahmad Peer had fled to Pakistan from Jammu and Kashmir. Bashir Ahmad Peer had made Rawalpindi city of Pakistan his base. Bashir Ahmad Peer was working for Hizbul Mujahideen while sitting in Rawalpindi. Sitting in Rawalpindi, he used to provide logistics and other resources to the terrorists who infiltrated Jammu and Kashmir.
