The Noida Authority in its board meeting had made a policy for registration of dogs and cats. Those who do not register will now be fined from February 15. Under the policy, this fine was to be imposed from February 1. But many such cases came to light who applied for registration and registration could not be done due to server down or other reasons. At the behest of such RWAs and AOA, registration is being done by setting up special camps at their places.

SP Singh, in-charge of Public Health Department of the Authority said that the imposition of fine will start from February 16. Then on getting the registration done by February 28, along with the registration amount of Rs 500, a fine of Rs 200 will also have to be paid. Even till the first date of March, if the registration of dog-cat has not been done, then the registration amount will have to be deposited along with the fine of Rs 700 till February. After this, there will be a fine of Rs 10 per day in March.

So far, till December 31, 2022, a total of 3938 dog-cat registration applications were received in the authority. Of these, 3136 dogs or cats have been registered so far. This includes 1435 registrations in Phase-1 and 1731 in Phase-2 of the Authority. There have also been rejections due to 416 form mistakes. Rest of the people have not registered yet.

Let us tell you that in recent times the incidents of dog bites have increased in Noida. It has been seen many times that dogs have attacked and injured children badly in societies or lifts. Since then the decision of registration has become necessary. Earlier such decisions have been taken in many big cities of UP including Ghaziabad adjacent to Delhi.
