IndiGo has announced a new partnership with Turkish Airlines to expand its reach in Europe. Indigo Airline has ordered about 500 aircraft as part of its expansion plan. The move is expected to improve the facilities available to travelers from India to Istanbul and beyond. Under its new codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines, IndiGo will be able to fly passengers from India to Istanbul and then on to more than 27 destinations in Europe.
Due to this partnership, Indigo will be able to reach many destinations in Europe which include major cities of UK, France, Italy, Ireland, Austria, and Switzerland. The airline has 76 online points in India which means passengers will have easy connectivity to Delhi-Mumbai and then to Istanbul and Europe.Indigo International Sales Head Vinay Malhotra said that this is a great step to connect us with Europe and with the order of 500 new aircraft, we will be able to provide a lot of convenience to the passengers. At present, Indigo Airlines is operating 1800 flights daily. Out of which 10 percent are international flights and the rest is domestic, that is, now we will be able to increase our fleet in international flights as well.
Talking about the tie-up with Turkish Airlines, Malhotra said that the farthest we travel is Turkey and Istanbul. We are very keen to fly further and that is why we have partnered with Turkish Airlines. It is a codeship partnership that allows us to enter Europe. We have never had such an opportunity before.
Malhotra also informed that this time there will be flights to two new cities, which are Nairobi and Jakarta in Indonesia. Not only this, we are introducing the best connectivity to Europe with free carrier service, on-line performance, and cheap fares. Let me tell you, recently Tata owned company Air India had also placed an order for 470 aircraft. Prime Minister Modi had also thanked all the international clients for this deal.In fact, all these steps are being taken to provide more facilities to the passengers so that the problems which people are facing in air travel in recent times do not happen.
