A 22-year-old pregnant woman and her two-year-old daughter died in a house fire in Sabya village under Kothibhar police station area of Maharajganj district. The police gave this information on Wednesday. Police said that after this incident, the people of the woman’s maternal side have registered a case of dowry harassment and murder against her husband and other in-laws.
The parents also alleged that Meena’s husband had a relationship with some other woman, which Meena had come to know about. There used to be a dispute in the house on this matter. He told that Meena was married in 2018. But her husband and in-laws used to torture Meena.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the District Magistrate, Additional Superintendent of Police, SDM and CO Nichlaul also reached the spot. They came to know that Meena’s husband and father-in-law were not at home at the time of the incident. Only her mother-in-law was in the house. Additional Superintendent of Police Atish Kumar Singh said that husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law have been arrested after registering a case on the complaint of Meena’s parents. His interrogation is on. At the same time, the dead bodies of Meena and her daughter have been sent for postmortem. Further action will be taken after the report is received.
