Alert issued on Saturday due to rising water level of Hindon river
After several days of decline, the water level of the Yamuna River in the national capital was recorded at 205.81 meters on Sunday morning, slightly above the danger mark of 205.33 meters. On the other hand, due to the rise in the water level of the Hindon River in Noida, many houses in the low-lying areas were submerged on Saturday. On Saturday, the police reached the spot and issued an alert regarding the situation.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has issued a flood warning for low-lying areas along the Hindon due to the increase in water flow in the river. Around 200 people were evacuated from five villages and shifted to shelter homes after the alert was issued on Saturday, he said. Gautam Buddh Nagar, who is also the nodal officer for flood relief work, said that the Hindon is currently flowing at 200 meters below the danger mark of 205 meters.
After July 13, the Yamuna was receding gradually after reaching an all-time high of 208.66 metres, but there has been slight fluctuation in the water level in the last two-three days.
After flowing above the danger mark for eight days, the water level came down below the danger mark at eight o’clock on the night of 18 July. The river crossed the danger mark at 5 pm on July 10, flooding the national capital. Due to increase in the water level of the river, many places in Delhi had to face water-logging and flood-like situation.
