Big success: Lawrence Bishnoi’s special henchman was brought from UAE, arrested by NIA, police of many states were on the lookout
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has deported Vikram Brar, a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, involved in several incidents including the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala, from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He was arrested as soon as he came to India. This is considered to be a major arrest in the terrorist-gangster nexus case. The accused used to make innocent businessmen victims of target killing. He used to smuggle weapons and extortion with the help of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar. About 11 cases are registered against Vikram. He was absconding since 2020. Police of several states including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi have issued 11 lookout notices against him.
used to act as a communications control room
The NIA investigation has revealed that Vikram Brar was working from UAE as the communication control room (CCR) for Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. Through CCR, he used to provide call facility to Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar (present in Canada). He used to execute extortion and other incidents on his orders.
A special NIA court in Delhi had also issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him. A Lookout Circular (LOC) is also issued in the name of the accused. And on March 24, 2022, the NIA filed the charge sheet. His name along with 13 other accused was also included in the RC-39 registered in Delhi in 2022. It was a case related to terrorist nexus.
Actively helped in the Moosewala murder case
According to the NIA, from the year 2020 to 2022, Vikramjeet Singh alias Vikram Brar actively helped Goldie Brar in the Sidhu Moosewala murder. Lawrence Bishnoi had also sent extortion money to Brar several times through hawala. Brar had demanded extortion from a doctor in Kurukshetra.
Student reached the world of crime from politics
The NIA investigation revealed that Vikram Brar was associated with SOPU, a student organization of Panjab University, before becoming a close aide of Lawrence Bishnoi. Lawrence was also the leader of this organization. After this he came into the world of crime. He along with his other accomplices started committing murder and extortion. It also provided logistic support to the gangsters of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab.
NIA has got five deported
In recent months, NIA has succeeded in deporting and arresting five fugitives. Among these, Bikramjit Singh alias Bikkar Panjwar alias Bikkar Baba, the mastermind of the Tarn Taran blasts, was deported from Austria in December 2022. This was the first extradition case of its kind from a western country. Apart from this, Babbar Khalsa’s Kulwinderjit Singh alias Khanpuria, Harpreet Singh alias Happy Malaysia, Parminder Pal Singh alias Bobby and Abubakar Haji have been deported in the Ludhiana Court Complex bomb blast case.
