Rahul Gandhi: Controversy continues regarding the name of India, the alliance of opposition parties. Hitting back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment on the opposition alliance, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that you call us whatever you want, but we are INDIA.

"Call us whatever you want, but we are INDIA", Rahul slams PM Modi on Manipur

Significantly, the BJP’s parliamentary party meeting was held on Tuesday amid the ongoing deadlock in the Parliament. During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi targeted the opposition fiercely. The Prime Minister took a jibe at the opposition’s new name Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) and said that there was India in the East India Company as well and there is an Indian in the Indian Mujahideen, but India does not become India just by naming it. The Prime Minister said that the opposition is totally directionless.

Rahul's retaliatory strike

Rahul Gandhi said that whatever you want to call us, PM Modi, but we are INDIA. We will help in healing Manipur and wipe the tears of every woman and child. He further added that we will rebuild the idea of India in Manipur. We will bring back love and peace to everyone there.

People will not be misguided by gimmicks

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said that the conduct of the opposition has been as if it has decided to stay in the opposition for a long time. Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ramesh Bidhuri also repeated the statement of the PM. He said that those who planned to divide the country also had names like East India Company and Indian Mujahideen, but people would not be misled by these gimmicks.

'Faces are one thing and reality is another'

Talking to the media after the meeting, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said that we are proud of our Prime Minister. We are returning to power in 2024. The Prime Minister told that the Indian National Congress, the East India Company was founded by foreign nationals. Today people use names like Indian Mujahideen and Popular Front of India, but these faces show one thing and the truth is another.
