Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) IT cell chief Amit Malviya on Thursday took a jibe at the Congress government in Karnataka over the lack of funds for MLAs to carry out development work in their constituencies. He was reacting to the statement of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Shivakumar had said on Wednesday that the Congress government in the state may not provide funds for development this year due to financial constraints arising out of the implementation of its five electoral guarantees.

Shivakumar is also the Karnataka Congress President. He had said that efforts would be made to ensure that party MLAs with high hopes understand the situation and have patience. It is being told that some Congress MLAs are angry and have complained to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the party leadership that they are not able to get work done in their constituencies and government employees are not being transferred as per their request. Along with this, he has also expressed displeasure in relation to the ministers and has accused them of non-cooperation.

Malviya tweeted and said, Congress will ruin Karnataka. There is no sign of implementation of five electoral guarantees and now development is also not happening. He also alleged that due to paucity of funds, MLAs would not be able to show their face in the constituencies.
