There was a collision between two private buses in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district in the early hours of Saturday. Six people including two women died in the accident. During this, 21 other people were injured. A police officer said that the accident took place at around 2.30 am on a flyover in Malkapur town of the district.

How did the accident happen?
According to the official, one of the buses that met with the accident was going to Hingoli after the Amarnath Yatra, while the other private bus was going towards Nashik. The bus tried to overtake a truck. During this, another bus came from the front and collided.

The officer told that 6 people including two women have died and 21 were injured. Senior police officers of the district reached the spot and took the injured to the nearest hospital. He told that due to the accident, the traffic on the road was disrupted for some time.

Man commits suicide, alleges harassment by traffic police
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man from Thane city allegedly committed suicide a few days after he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol. The deceased has been identified as Manish Utekar. Manish shared a suicide note on social media, claiming harassment by the traffic police. However, the senior police officer denied the allegation.

An official said that Utekar, who lives in Wagle Estate area of the city, hanged himself in his house on Friday afternoon. He was preparing for competitive exams. He wanted the traffic police to be lenient against him in the case of drunken driving. Otherwise it will ruin his future. According to the police, Utekar has blamed Pushpak and Sudhakar of the city’s Kopri traffic unit in the suicide note. The DCP said that there is no employee named Pushpak and Sudhakar in the Kopri unit.

MIDC police recovered 100 stolen mobile phones
MIDC police in Mumbai have recovered at least 100 lost or stolen mobile phones from different cities and states during 2022-23. An official gave information about this on Saturday. The official said that these phones have been recovered from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka and other places. Along with this, they were returned to their owners who lodged the complaint.

The official said that earlier, 350 mobile phones that went missing from January to May this year were returned to their owners. A special team was formed to trace these phones.

The police officer said that a team of the electricity distribution company, consisting of a technician and an employee, went to the site at around 4 pm on Friday evening to disconnect the supply of a dangerous building in Devji Nagar of Bhiwandi city. There, a group of 10 people allegedly led by a local Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader assaulted and abused the team. Two people were injured in this attack.

The officer said that the injured persons have lodged a complaint with the police. On the basis of which a case was registered at Narpoli Police Station under the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

Police tighten security for Muharram procession in Mumbai
At the same time, hundreds of policemen, including traffic personnel, have been deployed on the streets of Mumbai and its suburbs to prevent any untoward incident during the Muharram procession on Saturday. The police have tightened security in south Mumbai, suburbs of Mankhurd, Malwani, Kurla and other Muslim-dominated areas of the city, the official said.

Also, a large number of traffic police personnel have been deployed to ensure smooth flow of traffic and prevent any kind of crowding during the procession. According to officials, the Tajia procession took place at P Ismail Marr in South Mumbai.
