Mainpuri News: Rape of teenager by intimidation, 10 years imprisonment to the guilty
Special Judge EC Act Mita Singh has sentenced a girl to 10 years imprisonment for raping a teenager from a village in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh 16 years ago by threatening her. A fine of Rs 17,000 has also been imposed on him. He has been taken into custody and sent to jail.
On September 12, 2007, Sridevi, a 14-year-old girl living in her neighborhood, took a 14-year-old girl from a village in Kishni police station area with her on the pretext of defecation. After taking her out of the village, she was handed over to the constable of the village itself. Sipahilal took the girl with him. He raped the girl. The police did not write a report on the demand of the teenager. On September 21, on the orders of the authorities, a report was written against Sridevi, Sipahilal, Lalaram, Rajaram.
Police recovered the girl and after getting her medical, sent the charge sheet to the court. The hearing of the case took place in the court of Special Judge EC Act Mita Singh. On behalf of the prosecution, witnesses including the plaintiff, the critic, the doctor, the teenager testified. On the basis of testimony, Sipahilal was found guilty of rape. ADGC Vishwajit Rathore and Pushpendra Singh Chauhan argued for severe punishment for the rapist. Special Judge Mita Singh sentenced the rapist to 10 years imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 17,000.
Woman sentenced to six years
Sridevi was found guilty of taking away the girl child. The allegation of taking the girl outside the village and handing her over to the constable of the village itself was proved in the testimony. Special Judge EC Act Mita Singh has sentenced Sridevi to six years. A fine of seven thousand rupees has also been imposed on him. Lalaram and Rajaram have been acquitted as the charges against them could not be proved.
Punishment on testimony of teenager
In the court, Kishori identified Sridevi and Sipahilal. He told in the testimony that Sridevi took him away from the house on the pretext of defecation. Took him outside the village and handed him over to Sipahilal. Sipahilal had taken him along with him by threatening him. It was Sipahilal who raped her. Had threatened to kill for protesting.
