Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on Sunday. Under this scheme, 508 railway stations in the country will be rejuvenated at a cost of about 25 thousand crore rupees. Under this scheme, 1275 railway stations in the country are to be developed or modernized, and under the first phase, the development of 508 Amrit Bharat railway stations has started. Amrit Bharat Station: 508 railway stations will be renovated with 25,000 crores, know the special features of the plan in five points
  1. Under the first phase of the scheme, 508 railway stations in 27 states and union territories of the country will be modernized.
  2. In the first phase, the maximum number of railway stations in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan will be developed. According to media reports, 55-55 railway stations in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan will be developed in the first phase. Apart from these, there are 49 in Bihar, 44 in Maharashtra, 37 in West Bengal, 34 in Madhya Pradesh, 32 in Assam, 25 in Odisha, 22 in Punjab, 21 each in Gujarat and Telangana, 20 in Jharkhand, and 18 in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. 18, 15 in Haryana, and 13 in Karnataka railway stations will be modernized under the Amrit station scheme.
  3. The Prime Minister’s Office says that the design of the stations will be inspired by the local culture and heritage. Special care will also be taken for the facilities for the disabled in the stations.
  4. About Rs 24,470 crore will be spent on the development of the first phase of the Amrit Bharat station scheme. World-class infrastructure will be created under the plan. In which facilities like multilevel parking, separate entry and exit gates, an executive lounge, CCTV camera surveillance, a lift, an escalator, free Wi-Fi, a shopping complex, a food court, and a gaming zone will be available.
  5. Passengers will get facilities like modern facilities, better traffic circulation, and inter-modal integration in the stations developed under the scheme. Under this scheme, railway stations will be developed on a continuous basis with a long term approach. This scheme will be implemented in a phased manner. Facilities like a circulating area, waiting hall, toilet, cleanliness, and kiosks will be available to the passengers.

In launching the scheme, PM Modi said that India is moving forward with the aim of becoming a developed nation at the beginning of this Amrit Kaal. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Indian Railways, with new energy, new inspiration, and new determination.
