The crime branch of Delhi Police has busted a family gang involved in vehicle theft with coding machines and arrested a father-son and son-in-law. Arrested vehicle thief Rakesh alias Raman alias Chadha, his son Sagar, and son-in-law Neeraj alias Kalu have stolen more than 500 vehicles so far.

They used to change the coding of the engine and key of the most expensive car with the coding machine. After this, they used to steal the car with the new key. The members of this gang used to sell stolen cars in Meerut. Three stolen cars have been recovered from his possession.

Delhi Police’s Special Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Singh Yadav said that Havildar Narendra received information that the accused involved in the vehicle theft gang would come to Avantika, Sector-1, Rohini, Delhi, in a stolen car. Under the supervision of ACP Vivek Tyagi, a team consisting of Inspector Pankaj Thakran, Havaldar Rajesh, and Havaldar Amit stopped the Maruti Swift car by laying a trap in Rohini, Delhi. Rakesh alias Raman alias Chadha, Sagar, and Neeraj alias Kalu were the three accused in this car. The police arrested all three.

On search of the car, two key programming devices used to start the car with new keys, one T-key used to break the lock of the vehicle, and five new keys for Maruti Brezza, Swift Dzire, and Baleno were also recovered. Gone.

Used to steal cars by changing the coding
All three accused, along with their associates, are involved in the vehicle theft gang. The accused, Rakesh alias Raman alias Chadha, is the kingpin of the gang. They mainly used to steal Maruti manufactured cars. Initially, they used to break the lock of the car using a T-key. Thereafter, using the OBD STAR tool, the car’s engine and key codes were changed.

New coding was done with this device and then used to connect it with the new key. Reprogramming the car to use the new key by breaking the GPS system. The accused sold the stolen cars in Meerut to earn good money.

Uttam Nagar resident Rakesh alias Raman alias Chadha (54) is a history-sheeter of police station Vijay Vihar. He came into contact with Manish, alias Monu, and started stealing vehicles. Thereafter, he, along with his son-in-law Neeraj, alias Kalu, and son Sagar, started stealing vehicles. He was also involved in 10 criminal cases earlier. The accused, Neeraj alias Kalu (25) has studied till class 12th. He married the daughter of the accused, Rakesh alias Raman alias Chadha, and started stealing vehicles. He was involved in four criminal cases earlier. Sagar (28) had started stealing vehicles to earn easy money.
