Gyanvapi Survey: Basement opened, 3D imaging done… What happened on the second day of ASI survey in Gyanvapi campus?

The mosque committee was also involved in the second day’s action. During this, the area around one kilometer of Gyanvapi campus also turned into a cantonment. The survey was done on Friday for about seven and a half hours. Earlier, on July 24, the survey was conducted for about five hours. Amid tight security, the ASI team reached gate number four of Kashi Vishwanath Dham at 8 am on Saturday.

Four teams of ASI searched every corner
Amidst the commotion everyone’s safety standards were checked, then the survey team was sent to the Gyanvapi campus. The survey was stopped for an hour for the afternoon prayers. During this the survey team had lunch. The survey started again at 3 pm. Along with the ASI team, one lawyer each from both sides went down to the basement.

Earlier in the survey, four teams searched every nook and corner of Gyanvapi Hall, basement, west wall, outer wall. Measurements were also done. Evidence was collected from the walls and its surroundings. The survey of the entire campus is to be done except the Vajukhana. After the survey, the women litigants and the advocates of the Hindu-Muslim side, who came out of the premises, expressed happiness over the whole process and said that the ASI team is investigating in a scientific manner.

Claim to have found remains of idols in the basement
After exiting Gyanvapi, the Hindu side claimed to have found remains of idols in the basement. Sudhir Tripathi, the advocate of four women of Vadini told that in front of Nandi is the basement of Vyas ji. Remains of idols have been found from there. ASI is doing a detailed survey while studying in depth. The Muslim side is fully cooperating. Seeing and understanding the western wall, a team of experts is engaged for the survey. This survey is very different from the action of the commission of the Advocate Commissioner. Its form is comprehensive and everything is being done here in a scientific manner.

Reduction in the number of visitors to Baba Darbar due to survey
Due to the survey in Gyanvapi, there was a decrease in the number of devotees coming to worship Baba Vishwanath. Those selling garlands and flowers outside Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham said that the number of visitors from outside has increased since two days. The number of local visitors has decreased. On the other hand, the shopkeepers of Vishwanath Dham told that due to Sawan, the number of people who used to come to worship daily used to be more than one lakh, but this number has decreased since two days. Common devotees want to avoid the trappings of security and probably due to this their number has reduced.

Gate number four handed over to commandos
Regarding the survey of Gyanvapi, extra vigilance is being exercised by the police of the commissionerate. From Godaulia Chauraha to Bansfatak, Chowk, Bulanala, the cycle of the force continued continuously from morning to evening till Maidagin. People were allowed to move only on foot between barricades at various places. At the same time, in front of gate number four of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, along with the police and jawans, the commandos of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) were manning the front.
