BJP MP Ramshankar Katheria was found guilty in the case of rioting and assaulting a police officer in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The court sentenced him to two years imprisonment. Along with this, a fine of 50 thousand rupees has been imposed. The incident is from the year 2011. In this case, a case was registered on behalf of the torrent officer.

The case pertains to Saket Mal of the Hariparvat police station area. On November 16, 2011, former SC-ST Commission Chairman and present BJP MP from Etawah Ram Shankar Katheria reached the Vigilance Office of Torrent (Electricity Theft Prevention Office) located here. There were about 10–15 supporters with him.

Here, the manager, Bhavesh Rasiklal Shah, was hearing and redressing the cases related to electricity theft. Meanwhile, supporters accompanying MP Ramshankar Katheria barged into Bhavesh Rasiklal Shah’s office and started fighting with him. Due to this, he suffered many injuries.

On Bhavesh’s Tahrir, a case was registered against the MP and his unknown supporters under sections 147 and 323. In the case, the Hariparvat police station sent the charge sheet against the MP to the court. The verdict was pronounced on Saturday after testimony and arguments in the case.
