The historic bungalow of the late Indian film industry actor Raj Kapoor has been sold. It is located in Chembur, one of the costliest areas of Mumbai. Godrej Properties Limited has bought this bungalow. However, in how much the bungalow deal has been completed, it has not been disclosed. The company shared this information in a regulatory filing on Friday.
According to a Business Today report, Godrej Properties said in the filing that the property was bought from the Kapoor family, the legal heirs of the late Raj Kapoor. Godrej Properties MD and CEO Gaurav Pandey said that Raj Kapoor’s iconic project has now joined our portfolio. We are very happy that the Kapoor family gave us this opportunity.
Where Raj Kapoor’s bungalow is located, it is considered the most expensive area of Chembur. The company says that this bungalow has been bought from the family members of Raj Kapoor. Now an expensive residential project will be built on it. Earlier, Godrej Properties had bought Raj Kapoor’s RK Studio in May 2019. A mixed use project Godrej RKS is also being developed there. The project is expected to be completed this year itself.
