There are only seven days left for the year 2022 to end and this year also thousands of murder cases have been reported from all over the country. But this year some such incidents took place which shook the entire nation. These murders were such that they were discussed in every nook and corner of the country and remained headlines of newspapers, news websites and news channels for a long time.
Shraddha Walker murder case (New Delhi)
The first number in this year is the famous Shraddha Walker murder case. This murder case shook the whole country. Aftab Amin Poonawalla, the accused in this murder case, was arrested by the police on 12 November 2022. During the investigation, the police came to know that Aftab had killed his live-in partner Shraddha about 6 months back on May 18 and had cut her body into 35 pieces and kept it in the fridge. After this, he slowly threw the pieces of her body in many areas of Delhi.Aftab had also bought a new fridge to keep Shraddha’s body parts. In order to escape from the police in this case, Aftab very carefully disposed of Shraddha’s dead body and destroyed all the evidence very cleverly. Shraddha’s father has also demanded a case against Aftab’s family. He told that his daughter had informed the police.
Sidhu Moosewala murder case (Punjab)
The Sidhu Moosewala murder case was the second such big case of the country which shook the whole of Punjab. This massacre is being discussed in the whole country even today. Revelations are still happening in this. The relation of this massacre is being linked with the criminals sitting abroad. Musewala was killed on May 29 at Jawaharke village in Mansa district. Sidhu Musewala was allegedly gunned down by Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi’s henchmen.
After this murder, the police started interrogating Lawrence Bishnoi while rapidly investigating the case. The Punjab government informed about the matter that gangster Goldie Brar had taken responsibility for the murder of Sidhu Musewala on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Till now many arrests have been made in this case, but Goldie Barara, the mastermind of this murder case, is still out of reach of the police.
Kanhaiya Lal murder case (Udaipur, Rajasthan)
The Kanhaiya Lal murder case was the third major murder case of this year. It started with a statement given by former BJP leader Nupur Sharma on Prophet Mohammad. After that statement, the thought of ‘separate the head from the body’ arose in the whole country from the side of a particular religion and the Kanhaiya Lal murder case was the first incident of that thinking.The Kanhaiya Lal murder case was the third major murder case of this year. It started with a statement given by former BJP leader Nupur Sharma on Prophet Mohammad. After that statement, the thought of ‘separate the head from the body’ arose in the whole country from the side of a particular religion and the Kanhaiya Lal murder case was the first incident of that thinking.
In the said case, both the accused were identified as Riyaz Attari and Gaus Mohammad and both of them were living in Udaipur with a rented room. In this case, Kanhaiya Lal’s son had put a post on social media in support of Nupur Sharma’s statement, after which both these youths created the story of this murder case. Acting swiftly, the police arrested both the accused within a few hours. So far 9 people have been arrested in this case.
Bhagalpur Neelam murder case (Bihar)
While on the one hand, Delhi’s Shraddha Walker murder case shocked the whole country, on the other hand, the fourth such murder case came to light in Bhagalpur, Bihar, which put humanity to shame. On the evening of December 3, a woman named Neelam was brutally murdered while she was returning home from the market. In this murder case, the husband of the deceased killed two persons Mohd. Shakeel and Mohd. Judin has been nominated. Both these accused suddenly attacked Sarerah 42-year-old Neelam Devi with a sharp weapon and inflicted several blows on her body.
The accused cut off Neelam’s arms, legs and breasts with weapons. After carrying out the incident, the accused fled from there and Neelam was badly injured in the attack. Locals admitted him to the hospital, where he died the next day. At the same time, the police arrested both the accused in this case and are investigating further.
Trilokpuri murder case (New Delhi)
The fifth famous case that blew people’s senses was like the Shraddha Walker case. In this, a similar case of Shraddha came to the fore in Trilokpuri as well. However this time the victim was not a woman or a young woman but a father. The matter predates Shraddha and came to light on June 5. When police found body parts at Ramlila Maidan. Police investigation revealed that a person named Anjan Das is missing since 5-6 months and his missing report has also not been lodged.
In the investigation, the police arrested the stepson of the deceased Deepak and his second wife Poonam on the charges of murder. During interrogation, the police came to know that Poonam suspected that the deceased was keeping an evil eye on her daughter and daughter-in-law (wife of Deepak). Due to this, on May 30, he mixed sleeping medicine with alcohol and gave him drink and as soon as he became unconscious, Deepak slit his throat. After this his body was cut into 10 pieces and thrown at different places.
Sonali Fogat murder case (Goa)
The sixth case is of 42-year-old Sonali Phogat. He was declared dead on 23 August 2022 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Anjuna, North Goa. The initial investigation cited heart attack as the cause of death, but the post-mortem report revealed that there were multiple injury marks on his body. After her death, the Goa Police registered a murder case to investigate her death. It was initially suspected that BJP leader, former Bigg Boss contestant and viral TikTok star Sonali Phogat died of a heart attack late on August 22.
The CBI probe accused BJP leader and actress Sonali Phogat’s personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and his assistant Sukhwinder Singh of her murder. According to the CBI chargesheet, Sangwan and Singh have been booked under sections 302, 34 (common intention) and 36 (causing death in this case) of the Indian Penal Code and the investigation is still underway. Pieces of two women found in suitcase (Karnataka)
Seventh case In June 2022, the Karnataka police found body parts of two women near a canal, which were dumped about 25 kilometers away from each other. The upper torsos of the bodies were missing and only the lower parts of the bodies were recovered. The police, in their investigation, identified one of the bodies as that of a missing woman from Chamarajanagar. It was weeks after the incident that the police managed to ascertain the identity of the victim.
The police then arrested the criminals, using phone records. The accused were identified as 35-year-old T Siddalingappa and his girlfriend Chandrakala. He disclosed the murder of three women during interrogation. Along with this, it was also told that five more women were included in their target list, who allegedly pushed Chandrakala towards prostitution.
Ankita Bhandari murder case
The eighth case is of the murder of 19-year-old hotel receptionist Ankita Bhandari of Uttarakhand on 23 September 2022. The police arrested the owner of the hotel as the main accused. During investigation, the police came to know that the accused was allegedly pressurizing the girl for prostitution. The big thing in this case was that the accused Pulkit Arya is the son of former Uttarakhand minister Vinod Arya and brother of Ankit Arya, the current vice-chairman of the Uttarakhand OBC Welfare Commission.
Human sacrifice to gain prosperity (Kerala)
In the ninth case, the Kerala Police arrested three people, including a couple, on October 13, 2022, for allegedly performing human sacrifices as part of black magic rituals. Practicing cannibalism in the name of God, the three accused had performed the blood ritual of ‘human sacrifice’ to gain prosperity in their lives.Police arrested 52-year-old Shafi, a traditional healer and masoos, 68-year-old Bhagwal Singh, and his 59-year-old wife Lyal, along with two other women, Rosali, 49, and Padmam, 52, on charges of brutally murdering them.
Police investigation has revealed that the accused had carried out the murders of the women on different days between June and September in 2022. Police found that the bodies of the women were chopped into several pieces as part of a ritual to appease the goddess at Singh’s house at Elanthoor in Pathanamthitta district.
Girlfriend strangled to death, video of the murder went viral (Madhya Pradesh)
The tenth case came to light on 8 November 2022 in the state of Madhya Pradesh. In this, a man killed his girlfriend by slitting her throat for infidelity. The accused was identified as Abhijit Parihar and the surprising thing in this case was that after the murder incident, he made a video in which he was seen saying ‘Bewafai nahi karne ka’, after which he shot a dead woman. Removes the blanket from over the dead body to reveal it.
After shooting this video, he shared it on social media. After this, in another viral video, he told that his name is Abhijeet and he is a businessman from Patna (Bihar). He told that a person named Jitendra is his business partner and accused the woman of having an affair with both of them.
