The BBC defended its documentary on Prime Minister Modi, saying it was “rigorously researched”.
As controversy erupted over a BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the UK-based channel on Friday clarified that the published video was made after “rigorous research”.
India termed this video as propaganda and devoid of any facts.
Although a BBC spokesperson said, “The documentary was thoroughly researched in accordance with the highest editorial standards.”
The spokeperson added that “A variety of voices, witnesses and experts were contacted, and we have offered a range of opinions.
It also includes the reactions of the BJP party workers and Leaders.
We provided the Government of India an opportunity to respond to the issues raised in the series.
