A surprising case has come to light from Basti district of Uttar Pradesh. Where the paper and number plate of the car which a person was driving for the last 8 years turned out to be fake. Not only this, the victim was also continuously getting the insurance of the car done. Had also taken a claim from the insurance company after the accident. Despite this, no one even got a clue of it.
The matter came to light when in September 2022 the owner of the car applied for a high security number plate. When this application reached the RTO department, a shocking thing came to the fore and the car owner was told that the number plate of the car was fake. Hearing this, the ground slipped under his feet. That is, for 8 years he was driving the car with fake registration paper and no one even got a clue about it.
Car owner Manish Mishra told that he had bought the car from a car showroom in Gorakhpur in the year 2014, after that he also deposited the fee for registration papers but he was given fake RC papers.
Manish Mishra said that according to the registration paper he had received, the number of the car was UP 51 AA 6262. He thought that fake papers would not be given by the vehicle showroom owner, but taking him into confidence, he was cheated and given a paper which was not registered in the RTO department. By applying this number plate, he took his car on the roads for 8 years, even if an accident happened, he also took the benefit of insurance and got the insurance registered every year.The victim told that if the portal of security number plate had not been started, he would never have come to know about the connivance of the showroom owner and the RTO department. In such a situation, if a major accident had happened, he would have had to go to jail.
Giving information, ASP Dipendra Chowdhary said that the plaintiff side was presented in this, he had taken a vehicle a long time ago, he alleges that the RC of this vehicle and whatever number was allotted to him, when he used the high security plate. When he went to RTO, he came to know that his RC and number plate are fake. In this matter, he has told the collusion of the RTO office and the dealer. An FIR has been registered in Kotwali regarding the allegation. The case is being investigated. Action will be taken against whoever is guilty.
