Assam CM Sarma said – More than 4000 cases have been registered against child marriage, action will start from February 3.
To curb child marriage, the Assam government is gearing up and continuous action is being taken against it. On Thursday, state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted that the Assam government is firm in its resolve to end the menace of child marriage in the state.
So far, the Assam Police has registered 4,004 cases across the state and more police action is likely in the coming days, the chief minister said. He told, action on all the cases will start from February 3. That’s why everyone’s cooperation is appealed.
