A car and a truck collided head-on on the Mumbai-Goa highway on Thursday morning. A child was injured in the accident. At the same time nine people including 4 women died. According to the police, the accident happened on the highway near Mangaon at around 5 am. Police told that when the truck was going towards Mumbai, the car was going towards Guhagar in Ratnagiri district. During that time this collision happened.
The accident took place in Raigad’s Repoli village, over 130 km from Mumbai, in the morning. Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge said that all the relatives of the victims were going to Guhagar in Ratnagiri district in the van. The truck was going towards Mumbai.

The dead include five men and 4 women. Police said that a four-year-old child was seriously injured in the accident. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Police informed that now traffic has been restored on the highway and the incident is being investigated. The dead bodies have been taken to Mangaon Upazila Hospital. Police and rescue team are on the spot.
