A woman has been arrested by the police for making a video of the open hearing going on in a court in Indore. Police allege that the 30-year-old woman is allegedly associated with the banned outfit Popular Front of India (PFI).
Additional Commissioner of Police Rajesh Raghuvanshi said that the woman, identified as Sonu Mansuri, later confessed in her statement to the police that a lawyer had asked her to make a video and send it to the Islamic organization PFI. In return for this work, he was given three lakh rupees. On Saturday, during the hearing of a case involving Bajrang Dal leader Tanu Sharma, her advocates Amit Pandey and Sunil Vishwakarma saw the woman shooting a video in Court Room No. 42.
They got suspicious and so they caught the
woman with the help of women lawyers. They then informed the MG Road police, who took the woman into custody on Saturday evening and formally arrested her at night. The official said Mansuri, a resident of Indore, claimed before the police that senior advocate Noorjahan Khan had given her the task of making a video and sending it to the PFI.
The woman also told the police that she was given three lakh rupees for this work. The police have also claimed to have recovered Rs 3 lakh from the woman. Raghuvanshi said, “Further investigation is on and Sonu is being questioned to extract more details about his links with PFI. He added that action will also be taken against advocate Noorjehan Khan if concrete evidence is found.
Significantly, in September 2022, the central government banned the PFI and several of its affiliates for five years under the stringent anti-terror law, accusing them of having links with global terror groups like ISIS and trying to spread communal hatred in the country. Was. Prior to the ban, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and various state police forces had conducted massive raids on the PFI and arrested several of its leaders and workers allegedly from various states.
