The Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress is at its last stop. This journey, which started from Kanyakumari, will end in Srinagar, Kashmir on Monday. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will hoist the tricolor at the famous Lal Chowk in Kashmir. Keeping in view the sensitivity of the area, strict security arrangements have been made in entire Srinagar.
The entire area around Lalchowk has been sealed. Leaders of 23 opposition parties have been invited by the Congress for this last public meeting. However, leaders of many big parties will not participate in this.Apne Bharat Jodo Yatra started from Pantha Chowk in Srinagar on Sunday. Wearing a white T-shirt, Rahul Gandhi along with his sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra started the padyatra at quarter past 11. During this, thousands of Congress supporters holding the national flag and the Congress flag were also seen walking with Rahul and Priyanka.
On Sunday, ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ will cover a distance of seven kilometers and reach Somwar area of Srinagar, where Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka will leave for Lal Chowk City Center after a brief rest. Rahul will hoist the tricolor there. The Bharat Jodo Yatra has been going on for four and a half months, the entire area around Lal Chowk has been sealed and a multi-layered security cordon has been made around the city centre.After Lal Chowk, the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ will move towards Nehru Park in the boulevard area of the city, where the 4,080-km long march will end.
The yatra started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7 and has passed through 75 districts across the country. On Monday, Rahul Gandhi will unfurl the tricolor at the Congress headquarters on MA Road in Srinagar, after which a public meeting will be organized at SK Stadium. Leaders of 23 opposition parties have been invited for this public meeting.
