Bollywood veteran actor and ‘Lagaan’ fame actor Javed Khan Amrohi has passed away. Javed, who won the hearts of the audience with his strong acting and comic timing, said goodbye to the world at the age of 70. Lung failure is said to be the cause of the actor’s death. There is a wave of mourning in Bollywood due to the death of Javed Khan. Many Bollywood stars have expressed grief while paying tribute to the actor.
Javed Amrohi breathed his last on 14 February. According to reports, Javed Khan was suffering from respiratory illness and was ill for a long time. Due to illness, he was admitted to a private nursing home in Santacruz, where he breathed his last. His last rites were performed on February 14 itself at 6.30 pm at the Oshiwara cemetery.
Bollywood actress Poonam Dhillon also mourned Javed Khan and remembered him. Javed Khan worked with Poonam Dhillon in the film ‘Noori’. Poonam told Dhillon, “He was my Noori’s co-actor…a gentleman, saddened by his demise. May his soul rest in peace. Along with this, Gadar actress Ameesha Patel also expressed grief over the death of the actor and prayed for the peace of the soul by writing a super actor.
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi also condoled the death of the actor by tweeting. Shabana wrote, I am saddened by the death of Javed. He was one of the best artists of IPTA. My condolences to the family.
Javed Amrohi is known for films like ‘Lagaan’, ‘Once Upon a Time’, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ and ‘Chak De India’. Javed Khan was last seen in the year 2020. The name of the film is ‘Sadak 2’. Javed Khan played the role of Pakya in this film. Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur were also seen in lead roles in the film. Apart from this, Javed Khan Amrohi was also seen in many TV shows. Also Javed was an active member of IPTA (Indian People’s Theaters Association).
