There was an earthquake in Turkey at 04:17 am on Monday. Its depth was 17.9 kilometers inside the ground. The epicenter of the earthquake was near Gaziantep. It is located 90 km from the Syria border. In such a situation, strong tremors of earthquake were also felt in many cities of Syria. It is said to be the strongest earthquake in Turkey in 100 years. According to the US Geological Survey, there were 77 aftershocks after the earthquake. One of these tremors was of 7.5 magnitude. While one shock was of 6.0 magnitude. The epicenter of all these tremors was within a radius of 80 km from Gaziantep.

The tremors due to the earthquake were so strong that thousands of buildings collapsed like a pack of cards. The Turkish administration says that 5606 buildings have collapsed so far.
