The weather conditions across India are quite challenging right now, with heavy rainfall forecasted in over 22 states for the next three days. This includes the entire North West India to North East and South India states, as well as Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rains and thunderstorms in the coastal areas of Central Maharashtra, East Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Telangana, Royal Seema and Andhra Pradesh, with recent cloudbursts causing considerable damage in Kullu. The situation is quite serious, with major rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Ghaggar, Hindon all flowing above the danger mark and many areas being submerged in flood water. Stay safe and take necessary precautions if you are in any of these affected areas.

On Wednesday, a red alert for heavy rains and thunderstorms has been issued in the coastal regions of Central Maharashtra, East Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Telangana, Royal Seema, and Andhra Pradesh. Unfortunately, there has been significant property damage in Kullu due to a cloudburst. The Ganga, Yamuna, Ghaggar, and Hindon rivers are all flowing above the danger mark and many areas are currently submerged in flood water. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated locations in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Chandigarh.

There is disruption to traffic on the Badrinath Highway.

Despite the clear weather in Uttarakhand, the Badrinath road experienced traffic disruptions due to debris falling in Nandprayag. Additionally, the Yamunotri road was closed on Tuesday due to a landslide. However, the Kedarnath Yatra is still ongoing. Currently, 50 roads in the state are closed, and power supply to approximately 40 villages has been disrupted. Furthermore, 400 small and big canals have been washed away. In Haridwar, the Ganga is still flowing at 293.45 meters, which is slightly above the danger mark of 293 meters.

Five houses destroyed due to cloudburst in Himachal’s Kullu
In the Gadsa valley of Kullu, Himachal, there was severe flood in Panchanala and Hurla drains due to cloudburst at 4 am on Tuesday. In this, five houses were washed away and 15 were damaged. Four big and small bridges were also washed away and some cattle are missing. The Bhuntar-Gadsa Maniyar road has been damaged. A camping site has been damaged in the flood in the Brahmaganga drain of Manikarna in Parvati Valley. Water continues to flow from above the dam of the Malana project. Due to release of water from Pandoh Dam, the water level of Beas has increased. More than 500 roads are closed.

House collapses in Ferozepur school closed till 29th
Due to continuous rains on the mountains, many areas of Punjab have come under the grip of flood. There has been a lot of damage in Fazilka and Ferozepur districts due to the surge in Sutlej. The bridge got submerged in Dhani Nattha Singh Wala village situated on Indo-Pak border in Fazilka. Several houses have collapsed due to floods in Kalu Wala, a border village of Ferozepur. Here the villagers had to sit on the roof of their houses with their belongings. Many roads of villages adjacent to Hussainiwala have been submerged. 8 schools in Ferozepur and 10 in Fazilka have been closed till 29th.
